hello! Pizza help please! I stumbled across your page from a post Kate Leaver put up. I'm so curious about your pizza dough recipe - your new years party looks awesome!

Hi there! Thanks so much for getting in touch with me, am only too happy to help! Here’s my pizza dough recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all purpose flour, plus additional for kneading and rolling
  • 2 tsp (one packet) dried yeast
  • 1 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbs olive oil

Method:

Dissolve the yeast in 1 cup of lukewarm water. With a fork, stir in 1/2 cup of the flour, cover with a clean tea towel and set aside until the mixture foams and doubles in size.

In the large bowl of a kitchen mixer (or if you don’t have one, you can do it by hand in a regular bowl) combine the remaining flour (3 1/2 cups) with the salt and sugar. Gradually add the yeast mixture then the remaining 1/4 cup of water and olive oil. Mix (with dough hook attachment if using mixer, or with hands if not) until dough is formed. If using mixture, continue to mix for about 10-12 minutes. If not, turn the dough out on to a floured work surface and knead by hands for the same amount of time. When you have finished the dough should be smooth and elastic but should not stick to the work surface. Form the dough in to a ball and place in a large bowl that has been lightly coated or sprayed with olive oil, and cover with a tea towel. Let it sit at room temperature for two hours, or until doubled.

This dough makes 8 pizzas, so when you’re ready to prepare them, punch the ball down and divide into 8 sections. Roll out the pizzas on a floured bench and top as you like.

Bake in the oven for about 6 minutes, or as you like it. I like mine very crispy!

Hope this works for you- it has yet to fail me!

Best of luck!
